Marina Surgan has been Principal Pianist for Canada's National Ballet School since 1986. Born in the former Soviet Union where whe was classically trained, Marina immigrated to Toronto in 1975 and joined the NBS in 1978. Highlights of her creative career include composing music for the Cecchetti Grade Examination, recording music for the Prix de Lausanne, and playing master classes. Marina also conducts accompaniment workshops and musician mentoring, and tour internationally with NBS.
51 Pieces recorded live during an actual ballet class. This CD is both inspirational and comprehensive for any level dancer or teacher. Each barre exercise is recorded in 2 different rhythms. Contains generous Allegro section and very comfortable tempos.
The CD is 65:06 minutes long.
